About Me

Heya! I'm Josep, a Computing Science student at Glasgow Uni, but I am also really into global politics and economics. That's why I started this blog, to have an excuse to read about these topics and see how we can shape the ever-advancing technology to build a better society. All of this, while procrastinating on my uni work!

My focus in Computing Science is on the cloud and network engineering side of things. Basically, what goes on behind the scenes when you browse the internet, from how your phone communicates with a Google data center to how companies can track all your movements around the web. You can imagine us as the Oompa-Loompas that set it all up so that the Internet is a smooth running machine.

If this sounded a bit too technical for you, give it a try, my aim is to make it accessible to everyone through the use of analogies and examples. On the other hand, if you are here for the deep dive, I will try to leave resources in the posts so you can research further on the topic.

Finally, if you ever think that a post needs some tweaking or just want to discuss something, feel free to DM me on Twitter @JosepPerna or send an email to [email protected].
